Dear Bethel and 4J Colleagues,
Welcome to the new school year! Thank you for your votes last spring. Congratulations to the new officers and delegates. Please see election results in the Member Area tab. It's an honor and privilege to represent you.
You have likely heard about the passage of a new law previously known as the Educators Jobs Bill. Both contracts in 4J and Bethel have trigger language to restore days to the calendar in anticipation of additional funding, though there are different timelines in each district. EEA is working with the bargaining teams and District leadership to develop a plan to start this process. Specific information is being gathered and discussions are taking place. You will be informed and updated as we proceed.
Remember Mondays are EEA shirt days! Wear one to show your support, unity and in honor of former co-presidents Paul Duchin and Merri Steele. More information on purchasing will be available from the Public Relations Committee in September.
This year I'll be dropping in to meet teachers on Thursdays and Fridays during lunch and/or after school. I look forward to getting to know you and your needs. Hope to see you this weekend at the EEA booth at the Eugene Celebration.
